Elementary (K-5) and in Secondary (6-12) grade level categories.

Notification to semi-finalists and to regional media.

Round
Two postmark for semi-finalists to send to the above address:
- A 20-minute videotape showing
the nominee's classroom instruction, classroom management, and
interaction with students, and if possible, use of instructional
technology (computers, video, digital cameras, etc.). We will
send a style sheet to help with this process.
- A standards-based lesson
plan for the instruction shown in the video, authored by the
candidate.
- An explanation of how
instructional technology might be integrated into the lesson.
- A written statement releasing
the lesson for unrestricted educational use - with attribution - to
share with other teachers.

of Round Two submissions; 3 finalists chosen in each category.

Notification made to six finalists; three each in elementary
school level and middle/high school level. Finalists' names
released to media.

On-site
observations of six finalists in their schools by separate
three-person committees of McGlothlin judges.
